Let's not get too carried away here.

Monday night, and it's school night again. So in addition to a bit of Photoshop I managed to get an hour or two working on some low key lighting in the studio.

Meet Delores, she doesn't speak much and is quite expressionless at times, she'd lose her head if she had one but in general she's quite armless. Anyway, apart from a few scratches from years of abuse in the studio she's quite photogenic really.

I set this one up using a ceiling mounted monobloc and a small square softbox set at about 3 feet above the manequin which was placed about 8 feet from the studio wall. Hand held meter reading of ISO 100, 1/125th @ f5.6. What is quite interesting is that Delores is actually metallic gold/bronze in colour, this picture, apart from touching up a few scratches in PS had nothing done to alter the colouration but somehow it really looks like a convincing black skin tone.
